While worshiping with us on Sunday mornings, we invite you to also attend one of our Bible studies or communities to learn more about God’s Word and how that applies to your life.
The purpose of this life is preparation for the next. This life is short and will end. The next life is for eternity. There are two roads to the next life. One leads to eternity in heaven. The other leads to eternity in hell – the lake of fire. Our problem is that we are born on the wrong road – and the vast majority of people stay on it. As Jesus said, “broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Which road are you on? Which road are your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors and others on? That gets us to a number of questions. 1) How did we get on the wrong road? 2) Can we move ourselves from the road to destruction to the road to heaven? 3) If we can’t do it ourselves, is there away, and what is it? 4) What do I need to do? 5) What can I do to warn other people and show them the way? This class will address these questions and hopefully provide some answers. It will employ videos from experts as well as discussion. It will cover the most important questions you’ll face in your life. Dennis Sierk will lead the class beginning on August 10th.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in the Cafeteria
We will be focusing on Section 2, “The Sermon on the Mount” from Matthew 5 – 7. In these chapters from Matthew, Jesus teaches us what it means to follow him; in other words, to be his disciple. He challenges what we may have been taught or believe about such topics as revenge, truthfulness, money, and prayer. While we will be using Bonhoeffer’s book as a backdrop and be informed by what he has to say, our focus will be on the teaching of Jesus and how it impacts our lives now. The format of the class includes a review of Jesus’ teaching on a certain subject, insights by Bonhoeffer, and a chance to discuss Jesus’ teaching with others in the class. Bill Baldwin will lead the class beginning on August 10th.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in the Assembly Room
For those who grew up in a foreign language-speaking household, this is the opportunity to study the Bible in English. Join us as we explore the meaning of Bible passages and take the time to understand the language used.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in School Room 113
A college-aged community group designed to get real on issues of life and faith as you’re managing classes, careers, relationships, and more. Join us as we search for answers to life’s big questions in God’s Word.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in School Room 202
Join us as we try to figure life out together. Whether single or married, we are all trying to make sense of this crazy world and how to make our way through it according to God’s Word. In addition to meeting on Sunday mornings, we get together regularly as a community for fellowship, participating in activities around Huntsville.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in School Room 203
With so much going on between work, family, and everyday activities, life feels like a balancing act, yet we know that the only way to make it through the daily chaos is to lean on God’s Word. Join us as we apply God’s Word to our lives and have open discussions about our walks in faith. We enjoy additional fellowship outside of church several times a year when we get together for both adults-only socials and fun activities with our families.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in School Music Room
There is a point in our lives when we seem to be pulled in every direction. Our professional lives are reaching a fever pitch. Our children have school, activities, and sports. Our parents may need us more than they ever have before. It’s like a tug-of-war on steroids. Instead of pushing God down the “To Do” list, we gather to place Christ at the center of our lives, holding everything together.
Sundays at 9:30 AM in School Room 204
Each week, we take time to share our joys and concerns, pray for each other, and study scripture. Rather than being a classroom-style study, our group is discussion-based, learning and discovering from the text and from each other. We’re a multi-generational group made up of people who can see retirement age in the not too distant future, and those who have it in their rearview mirror. That said, we’re absolutely open to people of any age who want to discover the truth of scripture together!
