On April 2nd we will travel to Lacey’s Spring to visit Manna House’s Hydroponic Garden. Come and see where 5–10 acres of lettuce (21,000 heads) can be grown in one room! We will be given planting/harvesting instructions and put on a disposable gown, shoe covering, etc. before we plant or harvest lettuce. Then we will proceed to the Harvest Room and Water Supply Room before entering the gardens. There is the opportunity for us to harvest or plant lettuce seeds for about one hour. Simple instructions will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. More information about times and other details will be coming as the date gets closer.
