Saints Alive Trip to Lake Guntersville State Park

March 4 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

On March 4th the Saints Alive will travel to Lake Guntersville State Park for a private interpretive program entitled “All About Eagles.” We will leave Grace at 9:00 AM with the program beginning at 10:00 AM. We will explore the history of the bald eagle, discuss the importance of environmental conservation, learn to identify the bald eagle and differentiate between eagles and other raptor species, learn how harsh chemicals impact eagles both directly and indirectly through the food chain, and finally caravan with the park ranger to an active bald eagle nest in Guntersville to observe them in their natural habitat. We will then travel to La Esquina Cocina in Guntersville for lunch at noon, after which we will return to Grace before 3:00 PM so that you still have time to go to church that night. Cost for the eagle orientation is $10.00. We have been able to reserve a second bus, so we are able to take more than 24 people. There is also a sheet to indicate if you plan to travel by yourself. Bob Wank is the coordinator of this trip.
