New Studies Begin

April 12 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Join us as we begin a new set of Bible Studies.

Wisdom in the Bible
The word “wisdom” is used 201 times. The word “wise” is used 187 times. Wisdom is something that is deserving of some investigation and study. Some of the questions the class will explore in this class are: What does it mean to be wise? Are there different kinds of wisdom? Where does wisdom come from? How does one become wise? Who is a wise person and how can you tell? Our study will look at several books of the Bible, including Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job, Corinthians, Romans, Colossians, James. Each of these books has something for us to learn about wisdom. We will hear from some of the wisest people in the Bible including Solomon, Job, Jesus, Paul, Each will impart their wisdom to us. Join Dick Azzam in the Cafeteria at 9:30 AM, beginning April 12th.

2084
You don’t have to be a computer scientist to have discerning conversations about artificial intelligence and technology. We all wonder where we’re headed. Even now, technological innovations and machine learning have a daily impact on our lives, and many of us see good reasons to dread the future. Mathematician and philosopher John Lennox believes that there are credible answers to the daunting questions that AI poses, and he shows that Christianity has some very serious, sensible, evidence-based responses about the nature of our quest for superintelligence. Topics include: The key developments in technological enhancement, bioengineering, and, in particular, artificial intelligence. The agreements and disagreements that scientists and experts have about the future of AI. The key insights that Christianity and Scripture have about the nature of human beings, the soul, our moral sense, our future, and what separates us from machines. Join Marty Ohme in the Assembly Room at 9:30 AM, beginning April 12th.
