There are many ways to serve within our own congregation. Whether you have a heart to counsel others or you have the hands to do repairs, there is a place for everyone to serve. See some of the opportunities to serve at Grace below.
Stephen Ministers are trained to help people navigate a time of crisis with emotional and spiritual support. Job loss, grief, caring for a loved one with dementia, and many other challenges like these can leave people feeling alone and wondering if anyone cares. Stephen Ministers care and are there to listen and to help at these critical transitional times.
The A.C.T.S. (Actively Caring, Tenderly Serving) ministry team is organized to serve those who are experiencing a challenge in their life and need just a little extra help with a task or two – a caretaker in need of respite care, a church member who needs transportation assistance, someone experiencing a health challenge who would benefit from a couple of home cooked meals – the A.C.T.S. ministry team exists to meet these needs.
A facility like Grace is often in need of some TLC. Big Ed’s Work Crew meets on Tuesday evenings at Grace to install what is new, fix what is broken, and go out for pizza at Big Ed’s when the work is complete. This crew does not limit themselves to work at the Grace campus. They can sometimes be found taking on a project for someone in our community who just needs a helping hand.
Grace Lutheran Child Development Center (CDC) provides childcare for over 100 children living in the Huntsville area. You can support this ministry and serve families in our community by volunteering to rock the babies in the infant classes. This extra bit of love goes a long way for both our little ones.
