On November 19th the Saints Alive will travel to Birmingham visit the Birmingham Zoo from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We may witness animal feedings and talks, depending on the schedule. A major exhibition is the Trails of Africa, featuring the all-male African elephant herd, giraffes, antelopes, and rhinos. We will visit Diego, a striking male jaguar, who arrived at the Zoo on October 23rd, and take a ride on the Red Diamond Express Train. Visitors to the Zoo are allowed to bring their own personal wheelchair and electric wheelchair into the facility. Rentals are also available at the Zoo’s main Gift Shop. Following the Zoo visit, we will have lunch at 1:00 PM at the Overtime Grill with the “best” wings, tenders, and burgers in Birmingham. We will leave Grace at 8:00 AM and return about 5:00 PM. Group-rate cost is $19.00 for the Zoo and train ride. Contact Sabina Wank with questions. Sign up on the bulletin board in the narthex.
