SUMMARY:Maui Fire Relief
DESCRIPTION:As we read and hear news reports about the tragic and destructive wildfire that caused so much devastation in Maui\, Hawaii\, we are also moved and inspired by the mercy and compassion shown by many who have donated support or served to care for the people who are in need of help. The people of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and School in Maui were significantly impacted by this disaster and Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) have immediately responded. LCC coordinates with over 50 L.E.R.T. teams throughout the U.S. to provide support at times of disaster. We are collecting funds to send to LCC in support of the ministry they are carrying out in Maui. You can make a donation online here or write a check to Grace Lutheran with Maui Fire Relief in the memo line\, and we will send all donations to LCC for Maui Fire Relief. Please donate by September 3.

SUMMARY:Saints Alive Trip to Polaris Industries
DESCRIPTION:The Saints Alive will visit Polaris Industries on Greenbrier Parkway in Madison\, AL\, on Wednesday\, September 20. Polaris originates out of Minnesota and originally made snowmobiles before moving on to off-road vehicles. The Alabama plant makes the industry’s top auto-cycle\, the Polaris Slingshot\, as well as the off-road utility vehicle\, the Ranger. This plant is one of the largest plants in the Polaris system. \nThe bus will leave Grace at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am tour of the plant\, and lunch will follow at Old Greenbrier Restaurant on Old Hwy 20\, also in Madison. \nThe sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the church narthex (lobby) or contact Gene Menzel.

SUMMARY:Women's Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Breathe In… Breathe Out… With the crazy world we live in\, we all need to find time to take a deep breath and find some refreshment. Grace will be hosting a Women’s Retreat this Fall focusing on the word “Refresh.” Jen Roettjer will lead the women in a Bible study looking at the life of Elijah when God provided him a time of refreshment. Spread throughout the day\, we will also take time to enjoy several relaxation activities. Join us on Saturday\, September 23\, 2023\, at the Redstone Conference Center (Building 3711 – next to the MWR Activity Field) on Redstone Arsenal. Check-in begins at 8:30 am with a light breakfast bar. The retreat will run from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm. Cost is $15 and includes lunch. Chair massages will be available for an additional $10 (must be signed up in advance\, on a first come\, first serve basis). Register online by September 15 or in the Church Center app.

LifeSouth Bloodmobile will be at Grace Lutheran again on Sunday\, September 24\, from 7:30 am – 12:00 noon. All donors will receive a $20 e-gift card. DESCRIPTION:Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-lesson course that teaches you how to save for emergencies\, pay off debt fast\, spend wisely\, and invest for your future. Jordan and Kristin Haycock will be coordinating a new FPU class at Grace beginning Sunday\, September 24\, at 3:00 pm. The class will cover one lesson a week for nine weeks. It will consist of a video followed by group discussion and activities. The course is not limited to members at Grace\, so share with anyone who may be interested in participating!
