Grace Lutheran Church Youth Ministry

The Vision:

"Parents and others faith-mentoring youth so that they
become connected, trained and sent in the Name of Christ."

Dear Friend,

WELCOME TO GRACE'S YOUTH MINISTRY!  We have one of the best gifts we could ever give a young person:  a family that connects with each other and with the Lord.  Our vision for youth ministry here doesn’t just include the family, it is family-centered and Christ-centered.  What we have developed here, with the help of God, is a small group, mentoring style ministry where parents become faith mentors to their own young people.  We use our programs to teach youth and their parents how to share their faith and pray with each other.

One of my greatest joys has been to see families that have never done this to begin sharing prayer needs and then praying for each other.  Every Wednesday night, I overhear moms and dads praying out loud for their young person by name.  There’s also nothing quite like hearing 7th Grader pray out loud for their parent.

There is a lot of talk in our world about the importance of family.  But the reality is that scores of young people are hurting, parents are struggling, and many families are crumbling.  People are looking to the church for answers.  OUR CHURCH HAS ANSWERS!  We help parents and their youth experience a living, loving God in their daily lives.  This type of ministry produces a shared faith life, and our ultimate goal is to implant this into homes with “no child; no parent left behind.”

We have an awful lot of fun here in the process!  Whether it’s a water fight, a hayride or a pie throwing contest, we want our youth to know that Christians can have wacky, riotous fun!  Each of our groups, Middle School Youth, (Grades 6-8,) and Senior Youth, (Grades 9-12,) go on several trips each year.  We have gone on camping trips, ski trips, beach trips, regional gatherings, and servant-event trips.  We learn, play, and serve together.

THIS CONGREGATION LOVES YOUNG PEOPLE!  You will find us to be a warm, welcoming place.  The door is open for you; come and check us out at “Faith Journey”!

Peace in Christ,

Kevin Brandon,
Youth Minister
