Thrivent Builds

Project Duration:  March - May 2011

We have a lot and a family! It’s almost time to get started. Our homeowner is Tina Moore, a single Mom with 4 children one of which is disabled. The home will be built at 6334 Banks Rd NW in Northwest Huntsville just down the street from last year's build.

Tina will purchase the home through a no interest loan from Habitat for Humanity. Additionally she will provide 1000 hours of "sweat equity" prior to her moving in. Sign-up sheets available during fellowship time and after the second service on Sundays or you can call Larry Woellhart (256-880-1915).

Work days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting at 8:00 am through May 28th.  Snacks and lunch are provided on Saturdays.

Smoke Offerings will be smoking pork butts and hams April 2 for Grace’s contribution to Tina's home.  We will also have two Saturdays where we will need volunteers to provide lunch.

Won't you please consider volunteering to help with worthwhile project?  Giving up some Saturday family time is a great way to demonstrate to your children the need to help others.  You do not need to be an excellent handyperson to participate.  There is always someone to lead!  You are guaranteed to come away with more than you give.   

This is the 5th consecutive year that we have participated with local area Lutheran Churches in this program.  Thrivent contributes 65% of the cost, Habitat for Humanity 25% and local congregations 10%.
