Parish Education

Grace's PARISH EDUCATION ministry provides for the personal spiritual growth of our members and any others who wish to take advantage of these opportunities.  Parish Education includes several areas:

SUNDAY SCHOOL throughout the year for children from 3 years old through 8th grade. We're delighted that our emphasis doesn't end with a Bible lesson, but also shares how each lesson applies to our own individual lives.  Music, mission work and stewardship are other important emphases for our children.  As a part of our music ministry, all children are given the opportunity to participate in an annual Christian Worship Service.

YOUTH AND ADULT BIBLE CLASSES on Sunday morning as opportunities for growth in relationship with our Lord:

  • HIGH SCHOOL CLASS deals with current daily issues in the lives of teens. We examine how our identity in Christ, our relationship with Him, and His message to us in the Bible affect our prospective in dealing with life and our future.
  • COLLEGE CLASS focuses on God's plan for our lives, His promises and provisions as they apply to our daily lives, and the relevance of Christianity and the Bible to the issues of today.
  • EXPLORING GRACE CLASS is for those who are curious about the Lutheran church or interested in joining Grace Lutheran. It explores some of the basics of the Christian faith, of the Lutheran Church, and of Grace Lutheran in particular.
  • ADULT BIBLE CLASSES are offered on a variety of subjects such as study of the Bible, spiritual and personal growth, family relationships, and faith issues.

GRACE LOVING CARE GROUPS (GLC GROUPS) meet regularly at different times and places during the week for prayer, Bible study, personal sharing and fellowship. The purpose of small groups is to increase the ways we and others we invite can experience the love of Jesus Christ in our lives and how we can live this love in our daily lives. GLC groups also increase our entry points into the Grace Church family as we invite those who have no church home in Huntsville to participate in our groups.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL goes into action on June 21-25, 2010 from 9:00 am - 11:30 am, as our children and the friends they bring learn of Jesus' love for them. VBS is always lively in its songs, Bible lessons, games, crafts, and all those things that make this a special week.

STEPHEN MINISTRY is a caring lay ministry within Grace for those who may need a supportive Christian friend to listen and "be there" for them during a trying time in their life. Such times include illness, hospitalization, grief, separation, divorce, job loss, etc. Those members who are "care-givers" receive 50 hours or more in listening and caring skills as a part of this ministry.

The BETH MOORE BIBLE STUDY is offered during the week at Grace.

The WALTER HAAG CHURCH LIBRARY offers help resources to our members in Christian living, information for classes and studies, resources for planning and organization.
