Crown Financial Ministries

Bob Drensek and Chris Roberts are both gearing up to be trained as Crown Financial Ministry representative for Grace. Bob will be teaching the course on this indepth biblical guide to earning, spending, saving, investing, giving and getting out of debt...all based on Scripture. Chris is planning on going for financial coaching training, and will be a representative for northern Alabama in the practices of the Crown Ministries. This is an answer to prayer as we once had this ministry but no longer had leaders. Thanks to Bob and Chris for following the Spirit's lead in this direction.

Sunday Morning Bible Classes (Adult)

Sunday Mornings from 9:35 am - 10:35 am at Grace. Maps are posted on various bulliten boards in the buildings to help you find the classes.

Our Sunday morning format is planned with spiritual growth in mind. Our basic courses are Grace 101-401, as follows: Grace 101 is foundational teaching of what we believe and who we at Grace are. Grace 201 follows the Grace 101 membership class with the discovery of your Spirit-given spiritual gift, how to develop and experiment in it, and to learn what the five purposes of our Christian walk are all about. Grace 301 is a relational course bringing relevancy of Scripture to our daily life in classes on marriage, parenting, etc. Grace 401 is a deeper study of Scripture in either an overview of the Old Testament, New Testament, or the Bible as a whole. We have electives that are also offered which bring an even fuller view of our life in Christ.

Current Schedule
(Summer 2008)

Grace 101:
Discovering Grace

by Dexter & Joyce McClure
& Pastor Arndt
(5th grade classroom)
We have short Bible studies to highlight the grace of God and what His grace means. We share what Lutherans believe. We learn about the mission and ministries of Grace Lutheran Church. We get to know each other as well as the ministers and leaders of Grace Lutheran Church and School. We offer the opportunity to become part of the mission and ministries of our church if one so desires.
Grace 201:
Deeper Prayer

by Judy Zecher
(School Library)
Haven't you always wanted to go deeper in prayer and in your relationship with the Lord? We will spend time listening to the Lord through Scripture, journaling what God is showing us, learning and growing in inner healing, praying Scripture, and sharing what great things the Lord is showing us. Judy will continue this class not only teaching ABOUT prayer but putting it into action. This class is a continuation from the previous quarter.
Grace 301:
Boundaries

by Sandy McCutcheon

Grace 401:
A Week in the Word - Matthew

by Pastor Clark
(FLC Cafeteria)
The book of Matthew: Discovering Discipleship 101 is Jesus' call to Matthew with the words, "Come, follow me!" It was met with faith and obedience as he instantly dropped his nets and left his family to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. For many people today in the church, that seems like such an easy response. Yet, as you will discover in this informal verse-by-verse study of the book of Matthew, His call to discipleship involves so much more than many Christians are willing to give up in our world today. This is a continuation of the verse-by-verse walk through the New Testament Book of Matthew.
Elective Course:
Intergenerational

by ?
(Family GIFT Center)
Parents & children meeting together for Bible stories, crafts, servant events.
College and Career
by Joy Brindley and
Heather Roberts
(Panera Bread on Airport)
The Contagious Christian. Join other yound adults for Bible study.

(Panera Bread is located next to the Fresh Market at the corner of Airport Road and Whitesburg Drive.)
